the future of energy

innovation / technology

At Omega Energy USA we are focused on meeting the world’s changing energy needs with environmentally responsible goals, by establishing new energy industry standards for a clean global operation. Omega Energy USA is focused on diversifying it’s energy portfolio to develop sustainable energy technologies that move beyond the hydrocarbon industry, and developing efficient methods to produce energy while conserving natural resources and protecting the planet. Omega Energy USA is currently working on projects that include Plasma Water Treatment, Natural Gas Polymerization, and Ethanol production.

In the 21st century technologies are advancing rapidly and with it the responsibility of our company to innovate and implement alternative energy. Liquid fuels, including biofuels, will continue to be a major source of transport fuel for at least the next 30 years.  The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) states that about 11% of world-marketed energy consumption on 2014 was from renewable energy sources, such as: biofuels, biomass, geothermal, hydropower, solar, and wind; with a projected 15% increase by 2040.  In addition the EIA, estimates that nearly 25% of world electricity will be generated from renewable sources in 2040.

Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF)

Currently, the need for a global change in diesel engine technology to protect the environment and to reduce greenhouse gases has lead the US, Colombia, and many other nations to establish laws that drastically limit the emission of CO2 and NOx to the atmosphere by diesel engines.  This mandatory regulation has lead to the implementation of SCR technology (Selective Catalytic Reduction) to the newest diesel engine designs, allowing for more powerful and efficient engines, as well as clean exhaust that outputs nitrogen gas and water vapor to the atmosphere.  This process is done utilizing Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), which is a mixture of Urea and purified water.

Through one of the Omega Energy Companies, Pegasus Blending International,  a partnership is being formed with one of the leading global manufacturers of certified diesel exhaust fluid to produce and distribute the product in Colombia, where the newly passed Law 1111 stipulates that all diesel engines purchased or manufactured in Colombia must meet the Euro 4 and Euro 5 standards which require DEF, therefor establishing a growing market for a clean, green product that will reduce drastically vehicular pollution in Colombia

Plasma Technologies

Through a partnership with Neopowertech and its affiliate Neopower Colombia, Omega has sponsored the development of new Plasma technology for several hydrocarbon and alternative energy applications.  In the alternative energy development, the partnership has yielded scientific papers and research into the field of Helium 3 generation.

Plasma research has also focused on the hydrocarbon industry.  Neopowertech and Neopower Colombia are in the developing stage of a Plasma Water treatment system ideal for the purification and separtion of well and production water from several of our sites.   In addition, we are partnering in the development of a Methane Polymerization project that can create heavier more expensive hydrocarbons utlizing plasma.

Ethanol Production in Louisiana

In our new Louisiana project Omega Energy USA is developing a new biofuel project that will create jobs, strengthen the local economy, and provide fuel with the development of 5,500 acres sugar cane field and an Ethanol production plant that will produce Ethanol and other sugar cane derivatives. The idea is to develop a 360 project that not only provides for agricultural growth and jobs in the community where the land is located, but also offers an on site plant that will produce high-grade ethanol and other products. It is our prerogative to invest in the US and simultaneously aid in the growth of new technologies that foment the use of biofuels with clean technology.
